What You’ll Learn In Rediscovering Us
Here’s exactly what we’ll cover, together:
- Lesson 1: Become a team. We’ll teach you a technique that is free, easy, and takes just a few seconds, but has been shown to be the #1 predictor of marital success!
- Lesson 2: Bring the focus back to your relationship, because you’ve experienced a massive identity shift in becoming parents. Now, you need intentional ways of transitioning from parents to partners so you can keep showing up for each other.
- Lesson 3: Approach self-care like a team with easy ways to support one another and enjoy some much-needed time to recharge. Plus, self-care is a proven libido-booster!
- Lesson 4: Celebrate the way your connection grows through pregnancy and childbirth. Your body might feel completely foreign to you, and sex acts you used to love feel different now. But after discovering what your body is craving in this season of life, you’ll unlock more pleasure than ever before.
- Lesson 5: Develop your new Mental Load game plan so you can nip resentment in the bud and eliminate arguments that start with that innocent yet infuriating comment: “Just tell me how I can help!”
- Lesson 6: Overcome feeling “touched out” from your kids grabbing at you all day. Understand why you find yourself recoiling when your partner attempts a physical connection. And find ways to recharge and regulate your senses so you have the capacity for intimate touch again.
- Lesson 7: Build more privacy into your lives with research-backed and parent-approved tips for getting more alone time.
- Lesson 8: Model healthy, affectionate relationships for the kids. This is the key to ending the generational cycle of sexual shame, and enabling your kids to seek out loving, and sustainable relationships for themselves. Plus, nothing feels better than watching your parents cherish each other decade after decade.
- Lesson 9: Create time for intimacy. We know it might feel impossible right now, but we have some tried-and-tested tricks up our sleeves!
About Vanessa and Xander Marin
About Vanessa
I’m a licensed psychotherapist and serious goofball. You know what drives me nuts? The fact that sex is one of the main reasons couples break up. This is a totally solvable problem, but we have to start talking about it. Hang with me, friend and I’ll give you the tools you need to strengthen your relationship and have a bangin’ sex life to boot!
I have bachelor’s degrees in human sexuality and sociology from Brown University and a master’s degree in counseling psychology. I’ve been featured in thousands — yes, THOUSANDS — of magazines and online articles as a sex expert. You may have seen me in O, The Oprah Magazine, Real Simple, Harper’s Bazaar, and Refinery29. I’ve also written pieces for Allure, LifeHacker, Bustle, and a little news outlet called The New York Times.
About Xander Marin
I’m the resident penis-owner here. I used to work at Google, but quit when I realized it’s way more fun to talk about sex with my wife all day. While Vanessa’s the certified sex expert, I bring the regular dude perspective to our work. Together as a couple, we’re here to show you that it’s possible to get more comfortable and confident talking about sex.
